Meet my Camaro

The best place to begin her story, I suppose, would be in her complete state of disarray. Meet my 1998 Chevrolet Camaro. We have enjoyed 5 1/2 great years together and we plan on being together for many more, therefore, it is time for a face lift. As I will explain later, we have been through a lot together, but I have to start somewhere.......

As I said, I purchased her 5 years ago from a salvage yard. She was quite a sad case and has obviously since been repaired. As you can see above, her paint is just not holding up anymore. This is her second color. She started out green/blue from the factory, but her previous owner decided that she should be red. She looked beautiful that color, it is just unfortunate that the paint job wasn't very good, and I am not a fan of red cars =) She is showing off her true colors in the picture above. The dark spots on the paint are the green showing through. Not very pretty =(

She is also losing all of the paint on the ground kit

The spoiler is losing all of the clear coat. I suppose that is because it gets a lot of sun exposure? Or just another down fall of the bad paint job.

Her interior is still a little (okay, a lot) stained from the accident. It has been cleaned several times, but we all know how "substances of that sort" seem to like to come back and visit.

The door panel is broken as a result of the accident as well. I have tried SO HARD to find a new one in the 5 years I have owned the car, but that color (tan) is just impossible to find. The solution to this problem???? All black interior! Part of the revamp process. Now that you have seen how sad she currently is, I hope you will read the rest of her story. I promise it will be a good one!!!
